I'm Ruth.

I have always been a non-fiction type. I fill my time watching countless documentaries and films based on true stories. Human behaviour stretches my imagination.

Having graduated with a broad background in business and consumer behaviour, I inadvertently discovered I could design forms for a living. I was hooked! In hindsight, this degree laid the foundations for me to connect business and user needs.

As a graduate, I learned how UX could fuel my innate curiosity to make content and services for people meaningful. Since then, I have spent 5 years agency side at AKQA in London and New York where I learned from wonderful creative storytellers. Just before the pandemic I moved back to London to experience working on an in-house product team, at Farfetch, the global technology platform for luxury fashion. I've learned a lot about e-commerce and enterprise systems.

In the summer of 2022 I took a "summer sabbatical" to process and reflect on my ambitions. You can read about the conclusions I came to in this piece published by The Stack World.

Since then, I've found enormous personal development expanding my toolkit to Service Design. Recently, I've been the Service Design Manager at Rightmove and had the pleasure of managing a cross-discipline team of user research, service design and content designers. I envision myself in an experience design leadership role in the next 5 years.
